Newsletter page 3Sydney Royal Easter Show two Belted Galloway Studs promoted the breed by winning the following:
Champion Light Weight Steer - exhibited by Merv & Beth Presland 360 kg to 380 kg
Stan Hill Trophy - Belted Galloways 2nd Place - 258.3 points
The Champion light weight Steer together with 2 of Peter Kopman's Belted Galloway steers formed the team to represent the Belted Galloways in the Stan Hill Trophy.
Merv & Beth Presland's steer scored 89.9 points while Peter Kopman's steers scored 81.9 and 86.5 points.
Peter Kopman's steers were prepared by Chifley College Shalvey Campus and Oakhill College.
This weeks Land newspaper should have the full list. It's one thing to show Belted Galloways at Royal Shows but to win with Belted Galloway steers against the big breeds in the open steer section at such a prestigious show is quite an achievement.
